Med-ball step-behind rotational throw

At home Everyone

MediumAbout 6 minOn your own

A side-on throw into a wall with a step behind first, like a fielder's footwork into a throw. Moves the weight from the back leg to the front and turns it into speed.

Video: Muscle & Strength

Also: From a still start

Set up

Stand side-on to a solid wall a few metres away, ball at your waist.

You need: A medicine ball (2 to 4 kg) and a solid wall

Steps

  1. Step the back foot behind the front foot and push off the back leg
  2. Land in an athletic stance, loading the back hip
  3. Drive the hips round and throw the ball into the wall
  4. Catch it, reset and repeat, then face the other way
